COURSE DESCRIPTION
In this course, students will be introduced to a range of techniques and concepts in a variety of painting media. Students will also be introduced to key art movements and the ideas underpinning their representational style. Students will also learn how to evaluate and discuss a work of art using the elements and principles of art and design. Students will develop an appreciation for many stylistic and representational approaches of painting and begin to create works of art that reflect their personal interests and aesthetic sensibilities. Frequent technical demonstrations (group and individual) will support each student’s technical development and interests.
